Hello Friends!

            

If you love to get book recommendations as I do, I’m happy to share one with you.  The book is Why Don’t They Just Get a Job? by Liane Phillips and Echo Montgomery Garrett.  It’s about a program called Cincinnati Works that prepares low-income people to find jobs and retain them.  Although the focus of the program is employment, it has many similarities with our Mentoring program.  We can learn a lot by gaining an understanding of other programs such as Cincinnati Works and considering how others’ successes can help us improve our program.  If you read it, I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts.

The wedding was in Illinois, where Preston is stationed. Her Mentoring team at First Congregational United Church of Christ celebrates the happy time with Darnishea and Preston.
