If a man is to lose his fortune, it is a good thing if he were poor before he acquired it, for poverty requires aptitude. Lucky for me that I knew how to wield an adz and a hoe long before I learned to read a ledger book or negotiate a contract.

Income Tax Preparation
Tax season is here! Please talk with your client about getting free assistance with income tax preparation from VITA or AARP volunteers. They are trained to find as much help as possible for low-income families. Using a commercial service is an unnecessary expense for struggling families. For a site near your client, check the United Way 211 web site at www.tarrantcounty211.org.

Hello Friends!
Welcome to the newest Mentoring teams! A team composed of caring people with many talents is calling itself The A Team. They will be a great support and source of assistance to a family in need! We greeted two new enthusiastic teams from First Congregational Church Fort Worth last month. Trinity United Methodist Church is in the process of forming a second team, and two members attended training last month with First Congregational. Family Pathfinders is blessed to have all these compassionate and resourceful volunteers to serve families seeking financial stability.
Our Christmas program was very successful in connecting generous donors with families that would otherwise not have much under the Christmas tree. The families on the receiving end were so grateful for their teams or total strangers who opened their hearts to share the joy of the season. Thank you to all who participated!
My goal is to include in this newsletter news of community resources that may be helpful to your clients. If there is something you would like me to address, please let me know. Past newsletters are sources of information about services such as those described on the left that you might share with your family. They can be found on our web site at www.familypathfinders.org.
Blessings,
Peggy
