Volunteer Event Coming Soon!

We’re currently planning an event to bring volunteers from all our teams together to share ideas on mentoring. We have a great speaker who will lead a discussion that will provide some fresh ideas for your mentorship. Watch your mail for an invitation! |

Five Feeling Facts to Remember |
|
* All feelings are OK |
|
* It is important to have names for all of our feelings |
|
* We have both choice and control over our feelings |
|
* We cannot change other people’s feelings |
|
* Our feelings can help us out |

"You demonstrate great respect toward your colleague, friend, co-worker, or family when you ask questions rather then level charges. We need to ask questions - questions that do not intimidate, but sincerely try to understand: “Am I understanding you correctly?” “Can you help me understand the reason you have done this?” Questioning respectfully is faith in action." |

Hello Friends!
Welcome to our two newest teams from First United Methodist Church Arlington! They attended training on May 2, and are eagerly awaiting a match with their first families.
Congratulations to client Trilenna Pope who completed her LVN training at UTA! Trilenna worked in the health care field while she was attending school, no small feat for a single mother. We’re proud of you, Trilenna!
If your team reaches a point in its mentorship when you’re wondering what to do next, you can ask your client directly about his needs and goals. Ask what she would like you to do to support her in her pursuit of those goals.
I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming volunteer event on June 13th!
Blessings,
Peggy
