Our Mentoring Program matches trained volunteer mentors with families who are striving to become independent.
Mentors join hands with the family, helping them make a very difficult transition to financial stability. Clients may be transitioning off welfare, seeking education for self-supporting employment, or reentering society following incarceration. Each mentor provides a broad variety of support: from preparing for job interviews, managing a family budget and teaching planning and problem solving skills.
Our program really works! We are unique because each mentor works with their respective client for a period of one year, with the goal being to help families break the cycle of poverty. With a success rate of 85 percent, Family Pathfinders has been called "the best kept secret in Tarrant County."
